The pavilions displaying the collection are dedicated to the following themes: Olden-times Toys, Reclamation of Pontine Marshes, Olden- times Farming Machines, Life in the Country, Olden-times Military vehicles, From El Alamein to Messina and Salerno, The Landing of Anzio, Battle of Cassino, Civilian Use of War Surplus. The visit takes 4 hours. For organized groups a tour guide is available on request and in advanced booking only. Each pavilion is supplied with textual didactic boards and whispers - English and German speaking too – which explain and present the museum way-round.

According to the collections, Piana delle Orme way-round has been divided into two main sections.


The two sections are the Agricultural Section and the War Section.

Agricultural section: It includes the following pavilions : Olden-times Toys and Modelling ( 1 pavilion), Reclamation of Pontine Marshes ( 2 pavilions), Olden- times Farming Machines ( 1 pavilion), Life in the Country ( 2 pavilions).

War Section:Olden-times military vehicles ( 1 pavilion), From El Alamein to Messina and Salerno ( 2 pavilions), The Landing of Anzio ( 1 pavilion), Battle of Cassino ( 1 Pavilion), Civilian Use of War Surplus ( 1 pavilion).

A pavilion is used as Reserve Store and can be visited each month, on the second Sunday.
